Emma Mills is the author of five YA contemporary romances, including First & Then and Foolish Hearts, and one YA fantasy, Something Close to Magic. When she is not writing, Emma can be found editing scientific manuscripts, tending to her large collection of succulents, and deep-diving into various fandoms. I am a PhD scientist, Nutella enthusiast, and author of YA contemporary novels including FIRST & THEN (2015), THIS ADVENTURE ENDS (2016), FOOLISH HEARTS (2017), FAMOUS IN A SMALL TOWN (2019), and LUCKY CALLER (2020). My YA fantasy debut, SOMETHING CLOSE TO MAGIC, is out now!
I started my debut book FIRST & THEN when I was in high school. I finished FIRST & THEN in college and signed with my literary agent, Bridget Smith, in 2013— the same summer I began a graduate program in biomedical research. Six years later, I completed my Ph.D. research, and am thrilled to have published six books for YA readers.
